My First Mother's Day

This weekend will be my first Mother's Day. I'll be honest that I don't feel like the most natural mother, some days are super tough and others I'm a complete sap when I look into Zara's big blue eyes. I'm thankful that God entrusted this beautiful little soul to my care.

Last night I was telling Chris how I have been trying to teach Zara songs. "I sit her in the bumbo seat next to me while I play children's songs on the piano and attempt to sing along. Sometimes I give her a little finger cymbal to play with while we serenade each other. Today we learned When you Wish Upon a Star," I said.

Then he proceeded to absolutely melt my heart. "That reminds me," he jumped in, "this morning after I was done feeding her, right at sunrise we went outside together and saw the ISS pass over. I told her about how mommy pilots that special star."

Awwwwwwwwwww.

Mother's Day may be all about celebrating moms, but I know for a fact it's the love and support from Zara's DAD that allows me to be the best mom I can be.

I love you Baby ZarZar, thank you for making me a mommy.
